GeForce GTX 660 OC
Core i7 3770 CPU @ 3.40Ghz
Corsair Force 3 SSD
40" 1920x1080p LED TV/Monitor
Standard Wireless Logitech keyboard and Mouse
ASTRO A40 2013 headset and mixamp.
New to PC gaming, hence the standard wireless mouse and keyboard, didn't have much money left after everything else lol. Still trying to figure out what keyboard and mouse to get...

That is a good rig you have there. Well keyboards and mouse only go so much to helping you get the best out of yourself in competitive gaming. Otherwise anything that works for you is the best choice, it's brand and cost doesn't matter.

Yea, I'm a firm believer of don't do anything at all if you aren't going to do it right, so I got a family friend to custom-build it and put as much money into the thing as I could.
Oh, I forgot to mention it's got a SSD too... That set me back...
As for competitive gaming, I haven't started playing any MP on the PC yet.. I've just been getting lost in the superior graphics compared to console, like Skyrim and ME1 and 2... Grabbing Jean-Luc's high-res texture mods of BSN and adding them makes a world of difference, speaking of which, does your sheploo have the text-mod on? Looks really impressive! :)

Oh I am yet to add an SSD, am sick and tired of my HDD even though its 7.2k rpm 320 GB, I have bought a 256GB Samsung 830 but it back at home. Am working elsewhere in the world so haven't got time to go get it yet.
I got my Sheploo off the internet, he does look smart. I think its the defaults in the game its just the combo of shadows and angle that is making him look even more handsome because I feel I have seen this level of detail in-game during cut scenes.

By todays standarts, my PC is old but I can run every game on max settings, I'm planning on buying a new PC this year or early 2014 when the new console-gen allows developers to make higher quality games
M4A785TD-V Evo
AMD A3 Phenom II X6 1090T Hexa Core
GeForce 560 Ti
16GB DDR3 1066 MHz
27" 1920x1080 + 19" 1440x900 monitors
2 TB HDD
Some old USB mouse
Some old CS gaming keyboard

That Hexa core is a very good chip even if piledriver based Vishera's have the edge now in single threaded workloads and a large gain in multithreaded tasks. I guess all you really need is a new mid range GFx like HD 7850 or HD 7870 in the future or maybe by then even something based of sea islands HD 8000 series.
Oh about the next gen consoles..... they are going push the gaming industry by a large magnitude. 8)

For your screen resolution you should be getting medium to high frame rates on even some of the demanding titles. Have you bench-marked on some of the titles? Of course am assuming you run at native resolution of 1440x900.

Yeah it should be so, from that point this system is very good, it will only be an issue if you upped the resolution.

Ah well, it's got a screen, plastic case I believe... this sticker says 'directX 11' so there's that. Um, it runs on electricity. Gets hot on one side.

I've had mine for a while now (2 years or thereabouts I think), so maybe not as good as some of the newer systems in here, but here goes:
Core-i7 2600K overclocked to 4.8 Ghz (with a dirty great big liquid cooler on it)
MSI P67A mainboard
8Gb RAM
Geforce GTX 570
2 x 1TB HDD
60Gb SSD (for OS and virtual memory)
For sound I just use the onboard chipset. I can run everything I own on full settings without any problems - hopefully will be a while before it needs an upgrade.

I can help you with little software tools that pull these info for you

Thats a very good system you have there, what resolution do you usually game at?

Again another fine system, maybe the only upgrade you even to think of in 1 year's time is the Gfx

Wow you want to shell out more money for 7990?
Can't go with Crossfired 7970s? Cheaper and you can overclock if they have a good non-reference cooler.
Am guessing then you have a lack of an extra PCI-E 2.0 8X/16X?

That is a very top end system you have there and the Saitek X52 + CH Pro Pedals mean you are very serious about your flight sims. What flight sims do you engage in actively these days?

Re: To all PC gamers - Flaunt your rig in here B-)
Mostly Flight Simulator X. It's around 6 years old, but like any of the Microsoft sims, when they get released they require a pig of a system in order to run decently. Especially with all my CPU hungry add-ons. This thing requires more CPU and graphics power than Mass Effect 3 does (only uses two cores). If I turn up the autogen settings (trees, buildings, etc), I have all 8 cores running at 75% usage or higher.
Thing is, Mass Effect 3 tries to render small levels. FSX tries to render the whole globe (millions of square miles), but only a little at a time (radius around the plane). So you're going to need a ton of horsepower.

Thats correct, flight sims that focus on detail at render are CPU hogs, some more recent sims are no longer sims but arcade junk that have very high frame rates because there is no detail. Poor textures and more focus on ease of play-ability.
With the fully programmable Unified stream processors/CUDA cores of today it is easier to offload much of this to the GPU for on-the fly compute, completely facilitated by Open CL, but no decent flight sim developer has started to adopt whats available. Habits should change with time, plus with more industry co-opreation and push especially from the likes of AMD/HSA and Nvidia.
I used to play Jane's F-15 and F-18 way back in the days. Haven't done much since then on flight sims.

Well a top flight cooler based HD 7970 will save you like maybe 40$ each, so if you don't mind the extra 80$ then its all good.
Which one do you have in mind? I see PowerColor AX7990 on Newegg at this time.

Intel i7 920 (?)
560 Ti
6 GB RAM
120 GB Intel SSD
1 TB HDD (for all the horse porn )
and all that on a GIGABYTE motherboard.
Don't know, do you think that this PC could improve a lot if I added more RAM?

Well 6GB is already good, I have used 6GB and 8GB for even demanding game titles, its already good unless you do adobe premier pro or similar content creation work.
If you at all want to upgrade something it would be the Gfx for the sake of newer more demanding games when they come out, but as we have been plagued with majority console ports, upgrading for the sake of a few demanding games may not be financially sound choice unless you love those game titles so much that you have to play them at the max eye candy settings.
