MBTI Survey on ITers
It has been claimed multiples times by ITers that they find themselves in a group of people that is remarkably distinct to other real-life and virtual-life experiences so far.
Usually it comes down to "you are all so awesome" etc..
Now I want to make a little research on that matter. I want to find out, if the personality types of ITers deviate from the average numbers of the common populus.
First of all, here is a short explanation what MBTI is:
Of course you can have varying opinions about this form of categorizing - and to be fair - I personally think that it is not going to have such a huge amount of value. However, maybe it is going to have interesting results nonetheless.
Here is a short test - you might have to scroll down a little bit - that will give you your four predominant preferences. Since there are more than ten possibilities and the polls on this board only allow a maximum of ten answers, I will do a cryptic poll on the BSN.
For reference, I will post the average distribution of the common populus:
And here you have cliché description of every type:
I hope you have had fun.
EDIT:
If anyone has conflicting results, here are more through tests:

Wikipedia wrote:
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.[1]:1 These preferences were extrapolated from the typological theories proposed by Carl Gustav Jung and first published in his 1921 book Psychological Types (English edition, 1923[2]). Jung theorized that there are four principal psychological functions by which we experience the world: sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking.[3] One of these four functions is dominant most of the time.

I already know I'm an INTJ, an extremely popular personality type for villains. Considering I'm crazy lawful good in real life, I find this fact humorous.

I'm an INTP. I think that personalities are a little more malleable than this.
However, after reading the description for it, I'm actually quite like how they describe INTP's.
Although, I don't quite see how that makes me an Architect.

I'm a INFJ, so that means I'm a counselor. After reading the description that's pretty much spot on for me.

I'm INT for sure, but the last letter... I'm 50% P, 50% J
So I'm a... Master-Architect of Minds?

INTJ, too
Mastermind huh? Funny how I see myself more like an moron when comparing myself to the other RL people around me.
:/
Well, at least you guys are -- to quote -- awesome.
edit: maybe it's more something between INTJ and ISTJ. I certainly am comfortable with relying on previous experience, but I rarely live in the present.

Happens to me all the time, to be honest. Unless discussing a topic I really have profound knowledge of, then it boosts my confidence.MaximizedAction wrote:INTJ, too

I believe the first three letters are pretty much spot on for almost everyone. That last ine seem to require some thinking before you can decide for sure. And even then you might have doubts..like me

True, INFJ fits me. I can often understand peoples' modes of thought and why they behave certain ways/ are feeling upset or stuff.
I'd be a good counsellor. As it happens my mum genuinely is one

INTP here too... also from Herts England... they are breeding us I tells ya, breeding us like rats in a set of distinctly labelled cages...AxStapleton wrote:I'm an INTP. I think that personalities are a little more malleable than this.
