YanickRRoy's twitter

Post by pasza89 on Thu Jan 31, 2013 2:50 am

I have no idea how to link to single tweets and I am not sure if it won't disappear in future, I'll just copy some contents of Yanick Roy's twitter (he is a Studio Director of BioWare Montreal), posted few hours ago, link: https://twitter.com/YanickRRoy

23 Jan:
BioEvilChris: Bumped into a visiting @YanickRRoy in the lunch room. Oh the secrets that man knows about future projects. Wish I could repeat them here.

YanickRRoy: @BioEvilChris If you did, I'd have to kill you, and I'm really not into that sort of things! But yes, there's exciting stuff going on in ME!

30 Jan:

YanickRRoy: I obviously cannot say too much at this point, but looking at your questions/suggestions from the last couple of months I will say this:

YanickRRoy: It feels good that most of what you are suggesting/requesting is perfectly aligned with what the team is discussing and shooting for!

DaBigDragon: For what? New Mass Effect?

YanickRRoy: Yes, for the next Mass Effect

YanickRRoy: Cannot say at this point, but they do have a nice character creator!
ps: sorry for bad formatting but gosh I hate twitter

See, we may have to wait until ME4 or ME5 for a solid Indoc reveal. It sounds like it's certainly coming, just not within the confines of ME3, which makes ME3 the setup game to ME4.

Awesome.

And I really hope we don't have to wait until ME4.

To me, 'nice character creator' = multiple race choice

(I WANT GETH I WANT GETH)

I sure hope they don't neuter the conversation system even MORE in a ME4, though, as a result.

I don't even know how they would fit so many dialogue options and different voice overs on disc for current gen hardware if this is going to be a race choice mechanism.

He says that what people are discussing is in line with what they are coming up with, which leads me to believe they are carrying on with a set plan. They are on the right track (as far as they're concerned) and were going in this direction with or without the fans.

I can't get excited until I know what this DLC is about.

Multiple races is a nice idea in theory, but I will have to see how they implement it in practice. I'm totally with you on the dialogue.

Multiple races could lead to silent protagonists Unsure

Or they could just use one male, one female voice actor and put a couple of filters on the dialogue! ;)

the fact that we'd be playing as a new character leads me to believe IT wouldnt be confirmed in ME4. Plus i cant get hyped about this game until they sort out the current one

we'll be playing this on a nextgen console so im not sure how importing will go so there's no guarantee that we'd get anythng other than default shep. Also if shepard was saved from the rubble i'd want to play as shepard not some other guy

If they plan on that, I'm sure as hell not paying for it.

Agreed. If ME3 is about the battle for one man's soul (essentially Shep vs. Indoctrination), there has to be some kind of closure before the story moves forward.

I thought about it earlier - Bioware said that Shepard's story is a trilogy. What if they aren't planning to release next 10€ DLC that they worked on for 3-4 months, but a full Expansion Pack available in retail? They used to release those for their earlier titles and it would technically count as part of 3rd game. I know it's rather highly unlikely, but what isn't?

mass effect 3 disc 3?
they could, like dragon age awakening, this would be a best case scenario imo
