The ones that died during your adventure are the ones that got off easy.

I feel sorry for the husks left alive in synthesis. They'll never be able to return to their normal lives ever again.

They're doing fine. You're the one who should worry.

It's been discussed @ Synth-Compend and the consensus is that they are not made sentinent or sapient, it's still a remote-controlled (Reaper) platform, ala EDI. Can't be "alive" without a brain; the extent of neural decay makes it impossible to bring a husk to life. Only direct control from a Reaper makes them function at all.

They aren't seen in Synthesis epilogue slides, so it can be reasoned that the Reapers released control en masse.

The husks during the synthesis cinematic look to have consciousness and self awareness.

That is not the design of a reaper platform. A husk wouldn't suddenly be surprised they were attacking someone when hit by a dose of green magic and then slink away in shame if it was part of a reaper platform.

I know -- people going off of what "looks like" happened exactly the problem with that scene. Think about it: a husk is an organic victim of rapid indoctrination, thus, rapid neural-decay. There's no brain left. It is all but dead, but the Reapers can control the body through the synthetic components. Deductively speaking, a husk coming back to life is impossible, but it being controlled by the Reapers (pre- and post- Sync) is not.

That scene was clearly symbolic; the husk's face reflects the probable reaction of the Reapers themselves. By virtue of being controlled, the Reapers were not completely self-aware, but they are post-Sync.

And FYI: every Reaper ground unit *IS* a Reaper platform. That's not new in Synthesis.

And robots don't have dna....but that doesn't stop the green space magic.

It doesn't require robots' "DNA" nor was it ever stated to need any.

Here's a workable explanation, by yours truly: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/15699149.

Thank me later. ;)

The EC changed the wording.

The original ending used specifically DNA.

Either way, doesn't matter. With green space magic everything is possible and it doesn't take brains to make it so.
