Re: Would you buy the next big console?
Where can I vote "F*ck consoles, PC master race"??
Seriously though, the only reason for me to buy a console would be a SUPER AWESOME console-only game, which are rare. Ni No Kuni being PS3-only is driving me nuts...

I've been with Sony since the PS2 generation, and I have not been disappointed yet.
Personally, I have yet to see an Xbox exclusive on either system that made me think "Man, I wish I had an Xbox."

Same here. Sony will milk the "must have it now!" early adopters during the machine's first Christmas, then drop the price about 6 months later. In fact I may even wait for the inevitable "slim" version, which usually has better power consumption. That way I can feel slightly less guilt ridden about melting another small chunk of the Arctic every time I fire it up.

Re: Would you buy the next big console?
Nah. I find that all of the games that I enjoy playing are far more enjoyable on PC with mods anyway. And if need be, like with shooters, I could just use console controllers with an adapter. The versatility of a PC trumps any console I've ever had, really.
So I think that when the time comes that I really want to play a next-gen game, I'll put the ~$500 or so toward building an adequate PC. Plus, the money I'd save on games could be put toward parts as well and I could just keep improving it to adapt to ever-growing hardware demands for PC games. One day I won't be able to keep fixing my Xbox every time it breaks, so might as well build my own machine, I think.

Just the PS4. I normally buy every game system available, but I sold my 360 because of the terrible Windows 8 feel and I doubt it will change with the next one.
As for Steambox, high end PC user over here.
PS
I really like the 360 blade os, too bad they got rid of it.

I'll probably pick up the Xbox 720 and PS4 at some point for the exclusives, but I'll probably get a new computer first.

Re: Would you buy the next big console?
Anybody see any of Sony's press conference?
Amazing that they didn't show the console itself, but after all I suppose physically it's just a black box that goes under your telly.
Glad to see they're going with 8Gb of ram after all - I've heard that lack of ram is the reason ME2 takes so long to load on the PS3.
Was quite impressed by the skin textures on Quantic Dream's tech demo of the old man, but he still had those uncanny-valley, glassy eyes you always get with CG.
Also I'm an InFamous fan, so I'm glad to see that franchise is continuing, even if it's not with Cole as the main protagonist.

720 definately.
PS4 if I get enough money and depending on what it does, so won't vote on it.

Re: Would you buy the next big console?
Weirdly set up poll.
And none so far. I require backwards compatibility with 360 to make my games worth it (no, I'm not hooking yet another console up to this TV), or for the PS4 in order for me to easily buy the PS3 games I missed this time around.
If they don't have b.c., I'll just go with the PC I have. I have many games, especially MMOs, to keep me busy.

PS4, a year after launch. I had a launch day PS2 and it died after six months. But yeah, I love little big planet, and they're continuing that franchise, so it's a cert. I like the inclusion of a share button on the controller as well, plus the cloud seems intriguing.
Re: Would you buy the next big console?
I'll be getting a PS4... eventually. I mean, I have so many games I still need to play on the PS3 - that'll keep me busy for a long time. Just like the PS2 did! PLUS FFXIV a realm reborn will be coming out for PS3 so... that's my gaming for the next 7 years sorted (if my experience with FFXI is anything to go by!).
However - my boyfriend plays Xbox, so we'll have them both in the same house anyway!
It's tragic really, we own the mass effect series on both consoles and on both PCs.... the same things happen with some other games too >.>;
