The Indoctrination Theory codex Empty The Indoctrination Theory codex

In Mass Effect Codex narrator's voice:

The Indoctrination "Theory"was created of an idea that Shepard at the end of ME3 was being Indoctrinated by the Reapers. The idea that Shepard can be under going Indoctrination came from the last dlc for ME2 Arrival where Harbinger subdue Shepard for two day on Project Rho, and get's into Shepard's mind during those two days.  A few day later after ME3 came out, ACAVYOS made the first "Indoctrination video" explaining how the ending seem to feel like Shepard is being Indoctrinated at the end of the game. Byne a former BSN person
who saw that the ending of Mass Effect 3 was in fact Commander Shepard was being Indoctrinated by the Reapers, and Bioware at least planned this all from the beginning.Created " Was the ending a Hallucination: The Indoctrination Theory " thread , and the popular theory became a hit on the BSN. Further expanding the idea of a possible Reaper Ace in the hole to turn player against Shepard, and the galaxy.

Over the weeks Byne and his fellow ITers speculated like crazy, and started to grow a bond of friendship. However there were times when they would be at each others throats, and that of the trolls that would come by every now and then, yet in the end the ITers, and byne would make up for it. It was not until some where in April did Bioware announce that there was going to be an Extended Cut for the Mass Effect 3 ending/'s. From there the ITers tried to rap up the speculations, and wait for what the Extended Cut would hold for the Indoctrination Theory.

When the Extended Cut came out  in mid June of 2012 the Mass Effect fans soon began to either love the endings, or hate them even more. The ITers saw that the Extended Cut while it did not " add on after the Destroy ending Breath scene, or prove" the Indoctrination Theory is true, Bioware left more clues/ speculations for the ITers to discover, and speculate. Thus the flame war between the ones that said The Indoctrination Theory was dis proven Vs. the Indoctrination fans truly began.

Further more a ITer of the name TSA found some interesting files that were in the "EC". In those files were the next dlc that was coming out and the premise of the dlc was revolved around " Leviathan". Some of the ITers were thinking about The Leviathan of Dis founded in the system Dis of  what looked to be a dead Reaper corpse according to the  Batarian's that found the ancient monster. The others were wondering if Leviathan was in fact the race that created the Reapers. There speculations would soon be put to rest when Bioware showed the "Leviathan" dlc.  As the days went by the ITers were trying to figure out what was Leviathan going to do to help the "IT" in anyway.

During the release of the Leviathan dlc the ITers were blown away of the amount of evidence, and hints that Bioware showed in the Leviathan dlc. For one it proved that the events of the ending of the Catalyst chamber can be a virtual world made by the Reaper Harbinger for Shepard so that the player can allow the Reapers to gain a hold of Shepard depending on the choice you made, and so on. The ITers were exited with joy and  some of those that said The Indoctrination was dis proven so began to see what ITers were talking about in Leviathan, however many BSN'ers still said the "IT" was dis proven.

After Leviathan another dlc came out "Omega", yet it didn't support the "IT" except for the symbolism, and the dialogues that the characters would say. Over the next few months the after Omega came out the ITers soon began to get to know each other more and meet a good portion of the lurkers that have been watching and supporting The Indoctrination Theory thread. Although at the time the ITers we enjoying the peace, events outside of their own knowledge was happening.

11 days after news eve the BSN overseer Chris Priestly came into the " IT" thread and order that all talks about "IT", and Indoctrination would stop, and that all the threads are to be shut down. The ITers full of rage  felt like Bioware had betrayed them, and were giving the ITers the boot. Chris Priestly wanted to move the "IT" thread to the groups, since in his opinion the "IT" thread had become a social place and off topic, despite the other threads on the BSN that were doing the same thing. In light of that new some of the ITers lashed out at "CP" and were either banned for good, or temporary banned. ITers all over the BSN were being hunted down by the trolls , and the anti ITers they so longed been arguing with.

Despite Chris Priestly " final solution" to the BSN's problems of be riding the "IT" a few ITers that were in the makes of creating the "Indoctrination Theory site" since for the past 5 to 4 months ago, came to the "IT" group site on the BSN, and gave the green light to head for the new site. Once there the ITers were free of trolls,  anyone bashing the "IT", and could know get off topic when every they want.

The new place had improved the ITer's moral, and the thought of going back to the BSN. With the chat room, the "IT" thread archives, the "IT" thread, and the ITers things were better than ever. Once settled in a new announcement was made by Bioware the " Citadel" dlc was to have said to be the final chapter of Shepard's story, and that of his/her squad mates. Half of the ITers felt a reveal was coming, while the rest thought there was not going to be one. In the end the Citadel dlc proved that there was no "IT" reveal, or any sign of continuation at the end despite the size of the dlc space it required.

Although the months have passed, many fans of Mass Effect, and the "IT" still wish Bioware will/ would have done the Indoctrination Theory. Moreover the ITers still believe in the"IT" and currently are spending their time with each other on the "IT" site. Either waiting for the reveal, or just hanging out with their friends.

Actually, Byne and a lot of other people separately, had similar thoughts. Byne made The Thread™, and Avocados made the vid.

Well Byne was inspired by his vid Banshee. He then created the "IT" thread. he's said this a lot of times. He thought about it, but saw the whole picture in the video.

This is factually incorrect and I dont know where you are getting these 'facts' from. I started the IT thread before he made his videos and anyone who says otherwise is misinformed.

The Indoctrination Theory codex ITbegins

Dated before the first vid he made.

Maybe MB is trying to be very meta and just straight up make shit up like the in-universe codex writers do?

Edit: As a sidenote, its amazing how different the theory was back in the day. I may have started the thread but that image shows how much work everyone else put into the theory. Everyone involved in IT is just amazing.

Well said, and don't worry I will add more onto the Indoctrination Theory codex. This is just the main codex. will have to work on the little ones.

Edit: Fixed the beginning part. Way better than the one I had, and got rid of that byne.
