Religious beliefs. Empty Religious beliefs.

Okay I know I've made polls in the past, and things went wonky. But I'm not that person anymore. I think it's best if the only posts on this topic are just saying what you believe if you feel like sharing and nobody will respond to anyone or create any discussion. That is for all intents and purposes off topic. I truly am just feeling like sharing, hopefully you guys can forgive me for the past I was a jerk. My life changed drastically thanks to love so hopefully you'll give a guy another chance.

I am Agnostic Atheist, and I am also Anti-Theistic. However I tend to be quite more passive and peaceful than Anti-Theists can be a lot of the time. In fact while I will assert that Atheism has never had any murders or wrong doings in it's name, I'm not afraid to admit that Stalin and the like were Anti-Theistic(for power based reasons IMO) and that being an ideology, dogma can make it cause just as much problems as Religion itself. Not all ideology is bad, and not all religious people are bad. However I have noticed that it is heavily seeped in dogma. I really oppose dogma, so I'm not fully Anti-Theistic by nature. However I think the methods to get rid of dogma, would result in the death of religion. It wouldn't kill just any and all ideologies, it would specifically cause the gradual and eventual deconversion of Humanity from religion. You can see it in how many non-religious are increasing, while atheism only takes up a small part of the nonreligious... the more and more non-religious, the more and more atheists increase as well.

Eventually I think there would be no religion mostly only Deists, Agnostics, and Atheists. Then, over time only Agnostics and Atheists. No offense to any religious people, or believers here intended. I'm not saying you guys will deconvert... I'm talking about the exposure of children to skepticism and the increasing overall intelligence of humanity. Today's stupid people are probably more intelligent than the stupid people of the stone ages for example, tomorrows stupid people will be even more intelligent as will tomorrows smart people be more intelligent than today's. I'm not calling anyone stupid, the point here is that Faith will become less and less a virtue and skepticism and whatnot becomes more valued and more and more closer to becoming virtues in their own right because faith will no longer be necessary to answer a lot of questions.

I don't seek to tell religious people they are wrong. I am merely saying that... when a person dies, imagine having to think of the answer of how to deal with that. God and an afterlife were the ideas we started out with, they solved things easily. This is proven by the fact that religious people ask Atheists what they believe or assume they believe nothing, it shows a lack of success of coming up with an answer without god or the idea of an afterlife. But the thing is, we actually have secular viewpoints on these answers. Some can boast of being potentially more positive or fruitful than the idea of an afterlife. In all honesty I would promote an open mind in any children I have, if they chose religion or something else I'd only hope they were trying their best to be reasonable and rational about it. That they actually thought about it. Just like I'd hope a religious family, would accept their Atheist children because they have come to their own conclusions.

I've met religious ITers, I'd say they are good people. For which I mean, you would do the right thing... because it's the right thing. When I ask questions like if you would oppose an Evil god, I am not trying to judge you or your god. It's not about whether or not god is actually evil, but rather it's about IF they were. Like Kaidan Alenko once said and I'm paraphrasing but, sometimes it's about how these things WOULD go down not about how they actually go down.

Essentially I am Anti-Theistic not because I actively oppose religion or theism... but because I believe they will disappear on their own. There is nothing wrong with this, it doesn't make the possibility of a god invalid just not the position people will end up in. I'm Atheistic due to my Skepticism.

I'll just give one pre-emptive warning. This thread stays clean and civil, or I will bring the banhammer down so hard the grandmothers of anyone involved will feel it.
