Mass Effect (a retrospective)

Post by demersel on Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:13 am

Hello Everyone.
I would like to take a little time to truly celebrate Mass Effect, for a beautifull and awesome thing it truly is, and for everything that it inspires in us.
Mass Effect is a truly amazing piece of fiction, literature, and is truly ART.
Mass Effect is a Story.
Mass Effect is an Adventure.
Mass Effect is a Journey.
And the one that is not completed yet.
"This is it isn't it? Now that we're here it is hard to remember how we really got here."
Let's just put aside all out grievances for a moment and reflect on what they landmars of this journey were.

Before we begin - Important note:
please abstain of any kind of bickering and remarks about how awesome thing used to be and how shitty they have become. Yes the trees used to be taller, the grass greener, and the girl prettier.
This is NOT what this thread is about.

This thread is about reflecting on the journey we've had, to maybe help us better understand where we truly are.

With that said - let's begin.
We have a long walk in fron of us. Just bear with me - it might really be worth you time and you may realize, that the grass is still green, and the trees are as high ever. (And that is not even mentioning the girls Very Happy )

The first thing we are going to over view - is the presentation.
Just sit back and watch (fullscreen and with HD on) - watch how the themes evolve and resurface. Also pay close attention how the presentation itself shifts at ME3.

Ok, for some reason the linkes started to get posted all messed up - they work, but not pretty to look at. I can't find the problem, if any of the Mods cares to help me set them right - please do so.

Fixed your links, although we'd probably be better off without embedding.

Prepare for epic page loading time.

The Wii and Trilogy trailers really stuck out to me.

Even post-ME3, the adverts go:
-DESTROY IS WHAT HAPPENS
-REAPERS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU

in tone
