I'd like to be able to play my old games.

The only thing I wanted for the new Xbox is to have backwards compatibility.

I mean, the 360 is what, 8 years old? How hard is it to include a 360 emulator in the thing? Especially because 360 emulators already exist for PC.
If Xbox 360 games are so worth saving, someone will make an Emulator for PC. Someone was working on one before they canceled. I definitely know PCs got the hardware now days.

Those same "official and serious websites" claim it is impossible, which is completely batshit. Even if it didn't exist, it's because nobody cares to make it. Not because it is impossible -_-

Edit:

BTW that image is completely retarded. Xbox 360 and PS3 gen is in the dust of PC, PC is factually lightyears ahead of them. They are like 8-9 years old hardware and godwin's law doubles processing power every 18 months. So fuck them, they are completely ignorant in the matter. Like, they are so far from the truth it aint even funny. I sometimes feel like it's console owners who are just too proud to admit PC is factually way far ahead. Every 18 months processing power doubles... now, imagine 9 years and how many "18 months" you can fit into that.

Even the PS4 and Xbox One will be left in the dust shortly after release.

I believe you're thinking of Moore's Law. Godwin's Law is the thing about the Nazis. However, besides that, you're right on all accounts.

Fuck this freaking abomination. To hell with Xbox.

Fucking Kinect camera always on, fucking needs to be connected to internet to be able to play games. So what the fuck happens when I can't pay my internet bill, huh? I fucking won't be able to play the games I GOD DAMN PAID FOR. Fucking charging people for used games... TO HELL WITH IT ALL.

I have to scrape every fucking cent I have to be able to pay for my internet and fucking gold subscription. Hell, if it wasn't for used games, I wouldn't even be able to play games in the first place. 90% of my games are used.

FUCK YOU AND YOUR FUCKING XBOX ONE.

I'm going back and saving up for a PC, even if it will take me five years.

I'm fucking tempted to ritually trash and burn my 360 this very moment just to rid myself of stupid fucking consoles.

FUCK.

Heck, maybe they'll sell an attachment for the Xbox Eins that can play 360 games. Gamecube did this with the Game Boy Advanced attachment.

What a spectacular failure. I hope E3 helps clear things up and shows off games, of it doesn't.....

Is there room in the PC master race?

The only issue I have with it is the lack of backwards compatibility.

All I can say about a lot of this is, Console Plebs, welcome to the world of the PC Gamer. We've been dealing with required internet connections and limited used games for a while now. We haven't dealt with always on microphones or lack of backwards compatibility (though there are some old games that take a LOT of work to get working), but it wouldn't surprise me if that starts being an issue at some point. Ain't the life of a modern gamer just grand?

Well, you know Poe's Law... Anyway, I actually don't think this is such a bad thing. We don't know anything about it beyond the fact that they can do it, and if they actually use it in the Xbox One, then... actually, then nothing. It's not like it will change much of anything besides allowing you to make some extra Gamerscore.

Edit: Although, as one guy said, between this and the heart rate monitoring abilities of the Kinect, porn is going to become VERY interesting.

Do people actually want to talk to their console (or flail their arms around) to navigate between various features?

And it's stupid that they spent so much time talking about things like the NFL partnership, which is going to be a North America - exclusive anyway. Not that I would care about it, but still, it's quite the roundabout way of saying "Screw you" to the rest of the world.

Well, the NFL partnership isn't a big deal for me since I'm not a sports fan. Also, I must admit that talking to my console to get it to do stuff seems pretty cool. I grew up watching Star Trek and they would talk to the computer to get it to do stuff. That's kind of a dream of mine. Also, the arm flailing didn't seem very... flail-y. Assuming everything goes as well as it did during the premier when we get the console, I'd say it's not a big deal.

It's a big deal because apparently I can't buy the console without the Kinect. Which means I have to pay more just so that I get a useless extra device with it. That thing can't do anything a controller could not.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, some of the processing power is devoted to the Kinect-scrolling-between-features-stuff. That's not a good thing.

Not everybody wants to talk to a machine or mimic Minority Report when they want to just play games.

And the bit about the NFL: I don't care about it at all, but it shows how MS doesn't care much about the customers outside the US. You'd think they could spend an hour talking about features that everybody gets.

Why? It's not like I'm getting this console, so I wouldn't know Whistling
