Re: The Xbox One
I know that it makes a lot of people happy...but I don't see the point of the XBOX1 w/o Kinect...so much of (at least for me) what is promising about the console (and the future of its) and its tech is tied to what is possible with Kinect. I for one look forward to the day that I can buy a digital ticket to my favorite event and experience it from my living room through Illumiroom...but maybe that's just me.Dwaling wrote:If I do get the Xbox One, I'll use the Kinect on it. That said, I'm glad that people who don't want to use the Kinect can be happy.BlueLogic wrote:As suspected, it was just revealed that XB1 is not going to require Kinect to operate.

GameInformer speculates that at some point post launch, XB1 will be available for purchase without Kinect in the box, allowing them to better compete with PS4 in price.
Good for you XBox fans :)

Same here, if I was able. Call me old fashioned. Though, that would be nice for the people who couldn't make it.CoolioThane wrote:I'd rather go to the event

And that's more to the point...if I could go to every event I wanted that would be awesome. But I am not either rich enough or foolish enough to assume that that would be my reality...so if tech can provide me a way to do it, hell yes! Also, don't just think of current events...imagine being able to pull up a historic event on demend and watch as if it were live and you were there...like the "Rumble in the Jungle" for example.BansheeOwnage wrote:Same here, if I was able. Yes, I totally agree that the holodeck would be beyond awesome. I'd just rather do some of the things in it in "real life" if I could.DSharrah wrote:And that's more to the point...if I could go to every event I wanted that would be awesome. Aren't most of these events livestreamed so you can watch them without buying virtual tickets?

It would be cooler to experience the event holographically though.RavenEyry wrote:Aren't most of these events livestreamed so you can watch them without buying virtual tickets?

Tiny thing, but it's been revealed the xbone can only sit horizontally, instead of both angles like the 360.

Yeah, something to do with the vents.BansheeOwnage wrote:Huh. I guess it has to do with cooling?RavenEyry wrote:Tiny thing, but it's been revealed the xbone can only sit horizontally, instead of both angles like the 360.
Statistiscs say the majority have 360s horizontal, so fuck that minority, no point putting effort in there.

Also I think I read something about the disc drive not being designed to spin vertically.

I hate it when things go backwards. :l Luckily mine is horizontal, but a lot of people don't have room.

Re: The Xbox One
I hear what you are saying...I just can't wait for them to quit playing games and give us the ultimate all in one...considering how thin tvs have gotten in the past few years, I would be more than happy to have my tv gain a couple of inches of thickness if it meant that all of the hardware was integrated into that one package...and I wouldn't at all be surprised if this ends up being what the next next gen console is...BansheeOwnage wrote:I hate it when things go backwards. :l Luckily mine is horizontal, but a lot of people don't have room.

Re: The Xbox One
Oh, did you think the failtrain known as Xbone was done failing? Guess again. Microsoft is reaching out to conservative politicians trying to sell them ad space on XBL.
I have no words for this.

Re: The Xbox One
It's a far cry from earlier in 2013 when I was shocked by the E3 shenanigans, but the Xbone is a good console. It's selection of exclusives is a lot more interesting than Ps4's, as well as also receiving staple playstation franchises such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Solid.
With Directx12 also being confirmed on Xbone, the future can only get brighter
