Kirkwall's layout is a glyph?
Among my favorite discussion topics for Dragon Age 2 were those about the revelations of the Band of Three. Kirkwall's underground is, without a doubt, a work of mystic engineering designed to weaken and/or pierce the veil. However, in my readings on BSN recently I noticed someone had pointed out that the map layout of Kirkwall was a type of glyph. Well, I hadn't noticed that before and I was wondering if anyone could verify this for me and perhaps identify the glyph in question.
Given what we see in the DA:I trailer, ripping a hole in the veil seems central to the plot. As such, I would not be surprised if we see Kirkwall one more time in the upcoming game.

Yeah, Kirkwall's a pretty fucked up place. There's definitely a glyph in the older sections. Not likely we can identify it though. We only get shown glyphs like "hold person", not "greater veil sundering" or "torture slaves into the afterlife".
My favorite "wait, what?!" of Kirkwall's past is the blood sewers. As the Enigma of Kirkwall writer says, blood magisters could do incredibly powerful spells with minor amounts of blood. So what unspeakable thing were they trying to accomplish with an entire sewer system of blood?

Yeah, it's a pretty messed up place. Ideally, it should be abandoned and torn down. But that'll never happen. It's in a prime location. Whoever controls Kirkwall controls a major sea trade route. Even if the world knew that Kirkwall was the mouth to Hell, greed would still gravitate people toward it for control of that trade route. There'll always be people who can convince themselves they can handle the madness of Kirkwall because it'll line their pockets. Idiots.

I remeber that two of the prevailing theories for "all that blood" were the sinking of Arthalan (sp?) and the invasion of the golden/black city...there's a reason the authors wanted to introduce Kirkwall - and I doubt it was simply to have a back drop for the rise of the champion.
