who survives no matter what?

wanted to have a list of everyone in the series who survives to the end no matter what. joker, hackett, and coates are the only three i can think of. not sure about traynor.

Garrus - Can die in Suicide Mission, Beam Run
Tali - Can die in Suicide Mission, Beam Run

Joker - Makes it no matter what, unless Low EMS Destroy is death somehow
Chakwas - Can die from Suicide Mission

Miranda - Can die in Suicide Mission, Sanctuary
Jacob - Can die in Suicide Mission, possibly from skipping Arrie
Mordin - Can die in Suicide Mission, Tuchanka
Jack -Can die in Suicide Mission, from skipping Grissom Academy
Grunt -Can die in Suicide Mission, Attican Traverse
Thane -Can die in Suicide Mission, does die from Citadel Coup
Samara -Can die in Suicide Mission, Kallini
Legion - Can die in Suicide Mission, does die on Rannoch
Zaeed - DLC, can die in Suicide Mission, can die on Citadel sidemission
Kasumi -DLC, can die in Suicide Mission, can die on Citadel sidemission
Morinth -Can die in Suicide Mission, seemingly dies alone in ME3

Kelly - Can die from Suicide Mission, can die if not warned about Cerberus

EDI - Wouldn't make sense to die from Beam Run, but seemingly dies in Destroy
James -Can die on Beam Run
Javik - DLC, can die on Beam Run

Samantha - Seemingly can't die
Steve - Can die on London

Hackett - Doesn't die
Coates - Seemingly doesn't die

So yeah, we have Joker, Sam, Hackett, Coates...uh... that's it.

But then there's Liara, EDI, James, Javik (though he is DLC) as more solid ones hard to have dead.

A reiteration, you could have:
-Virmire Death + VS killed on Citadel Coup
-Wrex killed on Virmire or after betraying him
-Liara killed on Beam Run (harder one to manage)
-Tali killed on SM or from picking Geth on Rannoch
-Garrus killed on SM or Beam Run
-Crew killed on SM
-Miranda dying on SM but it's easier to have her die on Sanctuary
-Jacob dying on SM, not sure about Arrae (in a default file for ME3 btw, he's the only one left from ME2 to attend party other than Garrus and Tali, yikes!)
-Jack dying on SM or from skipping Grissom Academy
-Mordin dying on SM or shooting him in back or from curing genophage
-Grunt dying on SM or in Traverse
-Samara dying on SM or on Kallini
-Thane dying on SM or in Coup no matter what
-Legion dying on SM or handed to Cerberus or willingly on Rannoch
-Zaeed is DLC, but he can die on SM or unloyal on sidemission
-Kasumi is DLC, but she can die on SM or unloyal on sidemission
-EDI can 'die' on Beam Run, but seemingly only Destroy would take her out (if its real at all)
-James can only die on Beam Run
-Javik is DLC, but otherwise can only die on Beam Run, or you could predict his suicide or something, I dunno

So many deaths! Can't wait to make my failshep :)

And yeah AFAIK Samantha makes it. And isn't she the one putting Shepard's name on the wall if everyone else can't? I forget.

There's a third one too. Most interesting death. If she admits that she spied on you for TIM in ME2 and you chew her out for it, the next time you come back she'll be gone. Here's the conversation between some nearby NPCs to explain it:

Wow, never seen that about the Kelly suicide.

I thought it was interesting that the Kelly thing is an example of a paragon choice ending bad. If you don't tell her to disguise herself (which is the renegade option IIRC), Cerberus will kill her.

As for survivors: Space Hamster ftw!

What happens in low EMS destroy when you see the door open, but no-one comes out? Is Joker still alive then? Or will he be flagged as dead? Also, I hear (not sure if correct) the door doesn't open below 1750 EMS.

Is this only for the closest associates of Shepard? Because there are quite a few named NPC's who haven't bitten the dust.

So do you consider people whose fate is unknown as part of the list? Because there were quite a few worlds which Reapers invaded that contained named NPC's.

Yes, if you never do Shadow Broker DLC. Liara will become Shadow Broker eventually nevertheless, but it is too late for Feron.

There are a lot of named NPC's on the Citadel that we don't ever see die, like Commander Bailey.

Gianna Parasini can die in the first game. If Shepard is a jackass, he gets his garage pass after Administrator Anoleis kills her in a murder-suicide. Jackass Shepard is a jackass. I'm pretty sure all of the Normandy's non-squad crew can die in the Collector Base, including Gardner.

Ish can die in ME2 if you rat him out to Anto. The mission codex afterwords says 'nobody has heard from Ish since', and with it being Omega we all know what that means.

All right, that's three out from that list. Should have checked them up beforehand but I don't know from which crack Gardner fell into the list because results of SM are pretty obvious.

Here's three to replace them (until someone points out that these too can be dead):

Councilor Irissa (replacement for Tevos)
Councilor Quentius (replaces Sparatus)
Dr. Chloe Michel

Yes. Emily Wong died in their pre-game Twitter thing by driving her news car straight into a Reaper Destroyer and in my mind taking it out.
