Re: Top five soundtracks
Oh another one!
1. Tron Legacy (80's sound+classical music+electro+Daft Punk ftw)
2. Drive (80's sound ftw)
3. Berlin Calling (german movie about Berlin's club scene)
4. Mass Effect 2, 3, 1 in that order (can't beat "Suicide Mission" & "Thane", but "Mars" comes pretty close)
5. LOTR
And those are only the ones I'm currently obsessed of. Then, there are
BSG, AC2, AC3, King Kong (the new one), Pulp Fiction etc.

Re: Top five soundtracks
1's my favourite of the three, purely because of the main theme and it's many variations. There isn't a single track in all three I dislike though, so the whole trilogy get's my vote still.MaximizedAction wrote:

Re: Top five soundtracks
On a related note, just received my Twilight Symphony download from Zelda Re Orchestrated (ZREO) a massive 3 hour long orchestration of the Twilight Princess soundtrack.
I know what I will be listening to now.
What is amazing is that the orchestration started as a minor fan project which then decided they wanted to do something bigger. So with a kick starter like backing from the fans and permission from Nintendo they went to work and created this.

Re: Top five soundtracks
For me soundtracks need two things, the music obviously has to be good, but it also has to be well integrated into it's story, having recognizable themes and such. What's interesting is that this list would be the same if it was for "top five stories".
1. Mass Effect
2. Halo
3. The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit
4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
5. Red vs. Blue
