KOTOR 3 - Could it happen?
Possibility? I mean, with EA having exclusive rights to Star Wars games...added with their obsessive greed and KOTOR's popularity back in the day...do we think KOTOR 3 is as close to occuring as it ever has been?
I'd personally love it if Bioware jumped back onto that horse. A purely sp game though please

Re: KOTOR 3 - Could it happen?
I say I'm reserving my judgement until Battlefront 3 arrives.
It has a big fanbase. If that fanbase is pleased with the end result, then I'll say that chances of a KOTOR 3 being okay and not turn out as something regretable, and something that you'll wish should have been left to RIP in peace, are better.
Otherwise, I don't know. As ME3 showed me, it's better to leave something prematurely but with good memories, than get something that leaves a bitter aftertaste, and risk ruining the whole experience.

I think that ship sailed with TOR.

Would love if it happened, doubt it will happen, and at this point I don't want BioWare (or any EA studio) to do this, let Obsidian do it and give them all the creative freedom they need and deserve
Re: KOTOR 3 - Could it happen?
I think TOR technically is Kotor 3, but another single player game is certainy possible, if unlikely at the moment.

Which is why TOR failed IMHO...true fans wanted a SP finish to what was started w/KOTOR and TSL - and instead they tried to appeal to the masses by doing a MMORPG...they should have finished the KOTOR Arc first and then done the MMORPG...but alas they didn't. At this point I don't think that I want them to go back to do KOTOR 3...

TOR didn't fail, it just didn't become the most popular MMO in the world ever and make all the money like EA seemed to think it would.

I personally enjoy TOR, very much, for what it is. It is certainly NOT what I wanted as a follow up to KOTOR 2. I agree with DSharrah in that I would have been far more receptive to a MMO had it come on the heels of a proper SP KOTOR 3. As it is now, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

nah TOR sucks. Will be much better when space combat comes into play new year (F2P), which is hopefully a precursor of what we might expect in ME4.

TOR sux!
Trust me, I know coz I played it with three different characters...
After completion of story there's nothing else to do except grind, grind and even moar grind....
...or poor PvP...or poor Space Missions...
And even if you choose another class to play, you are still forced to visit same frakkin boring planets in the same frakkin boring order!
Nar Shaddaa, Hoth, Corellia, Ilum - these planets are pure hell of boredom over boredom..
Man, why I even touched this game and spent my precious time and money?
I don't even care about Republic vs Empire part of the story, coz I played with my friends to find out more about Revan's story....
And we did...till the grind, grind kills that game..
Grind and F2p restrictions.....

KOTOR3 can happen.
I have no confidence so far in it being good.

IF KotOR 3 happens, then prepare for:
- frakkin Origin
- frakkin DLCs (lots of them)
- frakkin Multiplayer
Let Obsidian take care of KotOR 3 or don't touch it at all, filthy EaWare!

You don't like it doesn't mean it 'sux'. It's very, very far from perfect but has many good points.

Based on what I've heard, TOR has a great story and solid PvE gameplay, but as an MMO it's mediocre. Honestly, it sounds like it was originally meant to be an SP RPG and ended up getting turned into an MMORPG. For solo players it's fine, but for actual multiplayer it's not nearly as good as its competitors.
Edit: Oh, I'll also mention that I think an SP KotOR3 would be great, but they should set it after TOR. TOR finished the KotOR1&2 story arc. Time to move on to something different. The great part about KotOR 1 was that it took place in a time in the Star Wars universe that hadn't been explored. They should do that again.

I don't blame EA for everything like some people, but on this one I'm fairly certain that it was their input that led to TOR being an MMORPG.
