OPERATION: LODESTAR (INSANITY) - Let's do this.
Friends, Romans, IT'ers... lend me your ears.
Operation: Lodestone has commenced, and with it possibly the most difficult challenge yet. I don't know whether these will be the final official operations or not, but either way, let's show Bioware just how dedicated the Indoctrination Theory followers are to the cause. Let's complete this operation. I want all of us to complete it over the coming day. All of us.
No man left behind. Let's do this shit.

Damnit, first match against Cerberus on Plat, reached wave 8. This is going to be tough.

What's going to be the easiest way to get through this? All Level 20 Juggernaut lobby? Stacked to the hilt with amps and equipment? Medi-Gel Transmitters? Armoured Compartments for extra Cobras?

Out of interest, what's your build for this insanity?

N7 Demolisher, demolishing the enemy with arc grenades.
Generally I try to team up with at least one Geth Juggernaut who draws in 1 hit kill enemies like Banshees and Phantoms. The rest of the team, me included then stay back and lay down hell. With a good Juggernaut and the right stage (Firebase Giant is good) you can breeze through it pretty easily as the Juggernaut soaks up enemies and damage like a sponge.

Some random tips for those with problems on platinum from the top of my head (there's obviously a lot of other tactics as well):
Against reapers, the Geth flamer-trooper is awesome (against all that armor). I specced it for as much damage to flamer as I could, very effective. Use the acolyte to strip shields and barriers. All kinds of biotics work nicely as well.
Against Geth, I went with the Destroyer, because he can't be staggered. Grab a big gun and watch things die (I used the Particle Rifle).
Against Cerberus, there's lots of possibilities. Someone with stasis is useful against all the phantom spam. I used the new Talon engineer with the Cain Mines, which wrecks Phantoms and especially those annoying Dragoons. Shot whatever survived my mines with my Harrier.
Against Collectors, one should prefer weapon classes (the swarms screw up power users, and the praetorians have that stupid "lol powers" bubble). I used the Geth Infiltrator with the Javelin sniper rifle, but there are obviously a lot of different kits to deal good weapon damage with. Infiltrators in general are a good choice.
General tips: It's useful to have one juggernaut in your team, because it can draw the sync-killers away from others and tank against them for days. Melee characters (other than the juggernaut) generally don't work well on platinum, because there are just too much sync-killers. For maps, I like the Tuchanka map (Giant). You can stay at the beginning area and you'll never get surrounded.
If you do it with randoms (like me), check that everybody is using good gear and consumables. Leechers are a pain in a platinum game.
And everybody should avoid the Rio box of shame. If you're gonna do the challenge, do it without cheating.
Like Shepard.

I did two of the silver ones before getting bored. Might finish off tomorrow.
I've never done platinum before so I doubt I'll be doing that part.

I would totally try Platinum, but I'm worried I'll simply interfere my fellow squadmates in playing :P I do gold sometimes and I'm not that bad at it, but damn, platinum seems out of range.

The worst part is, there's going to be tons of us silver players out there in platinum games. An experienced squad could probably carry one of us, but...this is going to be a slaughter.Vibez wrote:I would totally try Platinum, but I'm worried I'll simply interfere my fellow squadmates in playing :P I do gold sometimes and I'm not that bad at it, but damn, platinum seems out of range.

So, I was thinking of going with this Turian Ghost setup for platinum. My plan is basically to keep my head down and hit targets when they're looking at someone else. Overload is set for shield dmg, and stim packs should fill up my shields whenever I hit the panic button. Basically a mid range sniper with the saber. Thoughts?

I would have skipped fitness and maximized both weapon damage from the passive and the offensive upgrades from stim packs (because fitness is not needed when you have a "panic button" to prevent you from downing), but that ain't bad. From assault rifles I always prefer the Harrier over the Saber, but you might not have that so that's the next best thing.
Just hump the ammo boxes frequently to get more stims. And with so many boss enemies, it's gonna be hard to keep the distance between you and them, because they're quick and durable. So make good use of that flying dodge.
Sorry if I'm sounding like some demotivational speaker or something.
Best of luck!

Just make sure you don't do it in the Rio box of shame. If you do, you're bad and should feel bad.
And Collectors on platinum in a game with randoms where two people were voluses was certainly... an experience.

I was able to get it done with a team of 2 Juggernauts acting as shields, sponges, and magnets for enemies...a volus adept constantly replenishing our shields and a talon cain mining everything to bits...it was awesome. If anyone needs help doing this on xbox and I am on - I'll help.
And the banner is awesome...even more so when everyone in a lobby has it!
