Just curious.

If someone keeps saying "Thanks for the input, Jeff" every time you post something, even though Jeff is my first name, is that actually considered trolling?

Say, if I write a long, meaningful post with lots of constructive stuff.

They don't say anything else, just that phrase.

Kind of happened on another forum, so I thought I'd ask. Never heard that phrase before until a few weeks ago.

Depends on how well you know the person I think. It could be sarcastic but it could also be an 'I agree with your post but have nothing to add'.

It sounds a bit patronising but if English isn't their first language that may be unintentional. That's the problem with the internet - no body language or other cues to intent.

It could be "cool story bro." or it could be "I have nothing to say."
