Re: Hollywood continues to have no integrity
Hm...this must be Hollywood bait: they want me to hate on it prematurely!
HaaaHAAA!
Joke's on them; because I shall reserve judgement until it's out.
But that aside, it is unfortunate, that it's yet another remake. So I guess a Blade Runner remake is imminent as well, maybe.

Good God. 1984 is probably the least romantic story I can imagine. Maybe if they cut out the part where...
Or in the end where...
They'll probably rewrite all that into something where...
I think this excerpt from the book says it all really:
Page 72 - "He pulled the overalls aside and studied her smooth white flank. In the old days, he thought, a man looked at a girl’s body and saw that it was desirable, and that was the end of the story. But you could not have pure love or pure lust nowadays. No emotion was pure, because everything was mixed up with fear and hatred. Their embrace had been a battle, the climax a victory. It was a blow struck against the Party. It was a political act."
How romantic.
- Spoiler:
They're tortured until they turn on each other and genuinely wish for the other to be hurt to save themselves.
Or in the end where...
- Spoiler:
They can hardly stand to look at each other because it just reminds them of something they can never get back, the shame of losing it, and the futility of loving anyone in the soul crushing world of pain, anger, and hatred in which they exist.
They'll probably rewrite all that into something where...
- Spoiler:
Winston sacrifices his life so that his lover can escape and live happily ever after or some such nonsense.
