Getting horribly mangled I assume.
Blame Arian, he made those rolls!
Hey, we're the only thread apart from mkIV that has mitosised! Go us!

Uh Coolio; hate to point out the obvious, but the reason your chest feels like it's been ripped open is because it was.
You basically had the flesh over your chest flayed to the bone. You likely have a few broken bones, a large chunk of the flesh there has been ripped off, and even if healed with the aide of magic, you will likely have a scar there the rest of your days. It's a wonder it didn't kill you, so feel lucky.
Besides; you don't have the whole "casualties" bit as bad as my XCOM squads.
It's a personal house-rule in my D&D games that injuries from critical hits have some kind of long-lasting effect.
As for being a burden; no worries; give it enough time, someone else will get more seriously injured than you did. Llan, having broken an ankle, THEN WALKED ON IT, as well as getting porcelain shards driven into her face comes a close second. As the son of a woman who makes porcelain dolls, believe me, I know, porcelain splinters are a nightmare.

If you're referring to the new xcom I had a couple of false starts and a lot of save scumming before I won it on easy the first time. Still lost Australia even then.Arian Dynas wrote:

Wow.
No offense, but, wow.
Pardon me, I need to go laugh at you now. :P
I save-scummed my first two times too, but I never lost a country; I play it on Ironman Classic right now, with Second Wave turned all the way on.
Unfortunately, lost two squadmates since I started my new game, one was some unlucky Irish bastard who got nailed in the first mission by a lucky shot through a wall, the second was an assault specialist form Egypt, who was a real killer; blew away 9 X-rays in 2 missions, and not only had just earned her second promotion, but was due to be presented with her beret. I had to give the honor posthumously, when the last enemy on the map (thought I had blown away the last two prior, with everyone coming through ok, but then, they died and I'm like "Wait, what? That wasn't all of them?") just goes to show, sometimes the stupidest situations take away the best.
And before you ask, yes, I do this thing where I present berets to soldiers who chalk 5 kills, soldiers who survive 5 missions earn a green uniform, soldiers who survive 15 earn their mission blacks, and are assigned to Alpha Squad; the flagship team, who are usually made up of the most senior officers, an have a set of members who are rotated in and out; I send Alpha Squad into the hottest missions in the most dire straights, otherwise it's leaders just end up leading other, smaller squads.

Re: Inheritances: Consequence - Conversation Thread - Just For Fun
Hey, I'm not an expert on the old games or anything and bad at games in general. And I'm much better at it now, the two sectopods were the only bit of the final mission I had to redo when I got there finally. My attempt at ironman went horribly wrong when mutons showed up though.
For the record, I lost a country because of a battleship UFO that showed up just before I'd finished the advanced fighter and it shot sown the satellite.

Oh, well, then in that case, I forgive you; that's just bad luck.
And Sectopods are always a bitch.
The best part about the first time I finished the game though? The Volunteer was a Japanese woman, a support specialist who was one of my most powerful Psykers.
Her nickname was originally "Angel" I changed it to "Archangel" when I got her a suit of armor with the same name.
The Earth was saved by the sacrifice of an Archangel.
This was also the same playthrough where I had a Canadian sniper named Sam Sanders, who, yes, did survive to become a Colonel.

@Arian
I asked the Ghoul King about the pact. Do you want me to pass a check for him to answer?
Edit: Just in case, I rolled a 9 so I passed regardless of what skill it takes.

She was my volunteer too! The people you get from abduction missions must be pre-set.
Anyway, I should probably try it again now second wave's out. Random stats sounds fun. I'll probably try naming them after ITers again that was fun last time even though I got distracted and never finished that game.

Nah, it was probably just chance, though that is cool.
Also, was I in the list of poor buggers you sent out?

Also, Selim; going to answer your question, you don't need a check, but from one writer to another; vary your word-choice; it helps immensely.

Your sesquipedalian loquaciousness would be magnificently appreciated in the forum thread concerned with activity.
Oh, and once you read the post; If you choose to ask, King Santoyi will further elucidate that the reason he has not killed himself, if he considers his undeath a punishment, arises from a fear that suicides are denied access to heaven, consigned to eternal damnation. He can't ask someone else to kill him because that would still be suicide; and he dare not leave his people under the rule of a tyrant like Enrico would have been, he dreads the possibilites of what the Emmanuel would have done with his power over the entire family.

Sooo... does this mean the remaining ghouls will aid us should the castle get attacked?

I'll let someone else ask it, Arian. I am appreciative for having him sate my character's curiosity but that question doesn't feel like it would match Llan's personality.

I think coolio is the only one who'd ask 'Why haven't you killed yourself then old man?' and he's too busy counting the spots in his vision.

No.
The pact has been declared invalid; and without bodies to eat, the ghouls will all be in their caskets, conserving energy; Alonso, who by the way, was not allowed to be buried here under the pact, on the condition that his body seal the pact for whoever succeeded him, he did not expect Aaron to be that person, by the way, only found Sandro because he had been sitting so close to the first king's resting place.

Well then, if we just bury Alonso and never return to the catacombs we shouldn't have trouble with the ghouls again at least. Aaron wasn't to know feeding his father to ghouls was a good thing, so we'll let him off for this.

Re: Inheritances: Consequence - Conversation Thread - Just For Fun
Well, the thing is, the ghouls, or most of the ones here anyway, don't really WANT to be awake, hence why Alonso was NOT to be buried there, the pact SHOULD have died with him.
If you've ever read Lone Wolf, it's basically like why the Durenese don't want to see the Seal of Hammerdal again; because if they did, something bad has happened.

G'day, fellow IT RPers.
:/
Hm, while catching up at first I thought Van caught Llan from King Sandro. Now it's Erik.
Also, I'm really sorry if I forgot, but does Erik know Llan's a female?
