Re: Star Wars
Never noticed Lawrence Kasdan is working on it as well. He co-wrote Episodes V and VI --- also Raiders of the Lost Ark.
So this time, Abrams is actually working with an expert on the matter and on quality. That's right, I enjoyed VI.

There are people who don't like VI?
That is other than the people who insist only the original cut of the very first one counts?

Re: Star Wars
Return of the Jedi suffers a bit from comparison with Empire. That film is definitely my favourite. Luke's circuitous and overly elaborate plan to rescue Han from Jabba in the first act of VI doesn't help it either.

Jedi is the weakest of the three pretty much everyone agrees on that, but that doesn't make saying you liked it a 'come at me bro'.

Episode VI is cool...till frakkin Endor..gee...
Ewoks and dumb speederbikes chase ruined the climax!
I also noticed that Transport ships are about 70% of Ultimate Rebel Alliance Fleet...uber lame...
The rest are few Corellian Corvettes (Tantive IV-type), few fighter squadrons, Two Mon Calamari Cruisers ("Liberty" and "Home One") and several Nebulon-B frigates...pure joke...but they won coz good is good and evil is dumb and Imperials just had to hold back their massive fleet of ISD-II Destroyers to give those filthy rebels some fighting chance and demonstrate full firepowaah of new Deathstar....MASSIVE LAME!!!
The ground game tho....*siiiiiiiiiigh*......yeah...I would like to give you better analysis of this battle but..not right now..coz I aint got time fo' dat...
To sum it all up:
"Your overconfidence is your weakness" - Luke Skywalker to Emperor Palpatine
Couldn't agree more...evil is dumb...
P.S. Episode VI sux balls!

Jedi's not a bad film, it's just unfortunate that it came out after a better one that raised the bar a bit. If it had come out straight after the abominations known as episodes I or II it would probably have been hailed as a masterpiece.

So turns out that that football/soccer droid, according to Mark Hamill, is real prop, and not CGI.

Re: Star Wars
I just saw it and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I laughed out loud at the jokes, it was well acted, the action scenes were exciting, and the new characters, especially John Boyega's, were great.
However, it's not a perfect movie (no movie is) and there is an aspect to it that some people might hate

- Spoiler:
It's an almost total beat for beat remake of A New Hope. There's a plucky underdog with a destiny, stuck on a desert planet, again. There's a big planet-killing weapon with a design flaw, again. There's a noble sacrifice, again. In some ways, it's like a really well-made fan-fic

Pretty much my thoughts though:
- Spoiler:
I dont know if I would say it is a design flaw. All that energy needs to be managed by something and what is managing it is well armored enough to withstand an outside assualt and has enough redundancy that a massive internal explosion does not immediately prove its end. While it was a bit annoying to see a Planet destroyer again, it seemed at least much better thought through in terms of design than the past two Death Stars.
Perhaps what I like the most is the fact that we have a Dark Side character struggling with the lure of the light, instead of it beeing the tempteation of the dark.
I do want to see some more new stuff for the next movie now that we have been reintroduced to the universe.
