Seems like it'll be out on March 5th. Guess there's a bit more of a wait.

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
i find it interesting that they say "...after the adventure". sorry but that sounds like post ending to me. and we all know shepard only survives the destroy ending sooooooo...
could just be me being too optimistic, but this would just seems really out of place at just about any point in the game.
wrex: hey shepard thanks for curing the genophage. sorry i can't come with you on your mission; i need to lead the clans and fight the reapers........ but if you wanna take a break and throw a party on the citadel hit me up......
yeah, don't think so.

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
I'll repost what i posted to the main thread in case it gets completely drowned there. I'll fix up some of the typos later. Was typing real fast.
Guys, I have a theory on how this will play out!
All this stuff like the meeting the others crew members (some of them would be WAY too busy in a pre-ending galaxy) going to the Casino and so on will just happen AFTER the ending. After the choice and the following cutscenes the next thing we see is Shepard waking up in Huerta Memorial. Everything seems to be perfect around him at first, almost too perfect. Galactic peace is achieved. The reapers are gone. Everything is fine.
Shepard finds this odd.
So he starts investigating. Something seems to not want him to do that. That's our "conspiracy". In the end Shepard will have the choice (or maybe result depending on how well you investigated) to accept things as they are and live happily, or to question and discover the truth. He can discover that this place he is in is not in fact real. The reapers created it in his mind to trick him into comfort, so they could slowly indoctrinate him. (Add more and more oily shadows the further Shepard investigates for greater impact.)
Why is it reasonable to assume this? BECAUSE BIOWARE PULLED THIS SAME SHIT BEFORE. They had a "perfect dream world ending" in both Baldur's Gate II and Dragon Age! (I haven't actually played through DA yet, but I've heard of The Fade.)
This way literalists can have it their way, and we can have ours. People will discuss if maybe Shepard discovering this IS the hallucination and the Reapers actually just want the best for him. Whatever, dunno. Literalists will surely manage to twist it to their insane vision somehow. They can chose to not ask further and accept things as they are. Just like they did for almost a year now. And we, the inquisitive minds will be rewarded for our nature. Sure, some will bitch after they found out they're too dumb to get the "real" (lol) ending, but whatever Bioware do, people will bitch so no difference there.

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
Something else I was going to mention, if this really is a post ending DLC, I don't think they would be celebrating if the war isn't over yet. Think this may be the DLC, which we actually defeat the Reapers.
We'll have to wait and see.

Well, considering Lair Of The Shadow Broker was pretty damn long and only 1.5 GB large, Leviathan was about the same time and 2GB large I'm sure it's saf to say that the 4GB content in this will be rather massive.
Also, no matter if it proves IT or not, it still makes me sad that the journey comes to an end.

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
I had this prophecy where the final DLC for Mass Effect 3 would be the real ending that I made roughly 6 months ago. Let's hope I was right.

Not sure if Turian heaven is the same as yours, but if this thing goes sideways, meet me at the bar.
Didn't someone say that Silver Coast bar was located in Rio or something? I forget.

Just gonna put this right here...
EDIT: Kudos to Master Che, LazyTechGuy, and dreamgazer from BSN on this

The scar thing is being tossed around BSN right now...The scar in the pic is the same scar Shepard has in the ending sequence

Okay this DLC looks like it's going to be good. If I get more of Shepard + squad moments I'm happy.
I'm curious though, where are you getting the 4GB thing from? Didn't see any mention of file size on the announcement other than it being larger than 2GB.

Don't forget the situation the Citadel is in in any ending (if taken literally)!noobcannon wrote:i find it interesting that they say "...after the adventure". sorry but that sounds like post ending to me. and we all know shepard only survives the destroy ending sooooooo...

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
Since this DLC is roughly 4 GB in size, that almost sounds like an expansion. I mean Omega was 2 GB and it had roughly 4 hours of content (if you take it slow). Since this is 4 GB worth of content, that would mean that it's roughly 6-8 hours worth of content.

Re: Mass Effect 3: Citadel Announced
Something is off about the celebration picture. It reminds me of the dream episode from 'The Sopranos' where Tony is in a dream world but can't seem to remember who he is or where he is going. It's a little....too happy. Star Trek and Stargate did this as well.
And then, also, factor in the scar.

I think the 64 million dollar question is, was this the Project X DLC that they were talking about earlier?

Looks like there is a Reaper (upside-down) on the background of Shepard chilling out with squadmates picture.

Sounds quite plausible. In DA, there were at least two instances where a character was pulled into an illusion that had their mind trapped. One occurs in the "normal" world, where a demon has overcome a templar with visions of being content and living with his family. He's actually standing in a room surrounded by the dead bodies of his comrades and enemies that had fallen in combat just hours before. You try to talk him out of it, telling him it's not real, but the demon has already won him over. She persuades him to attack by telling him that you and your party are bandits that have broken into their home to kill their children.
Anyway, that idea translates nicely to what you've proposed.

Oh man, I really want the DLC now, just so I can find o-
Damn you EA and Bioware for teasing us and never letting us know if our theories are true or not just so we can keep searching trough your DLCs for clues! But I am certainly hopeful, the scar in the picture is a good indicator that we maybe, just maybe, will finally get the answers we want.
Or maybe they're just teasing us!

Well, ultimately, I suppose it is. But it could still be re-exposed after being zapped by Harbinger.

Even if this is not post-ending (hope it is just being cautious here) im happy it has the squad and romances in it. It's one of the things I have been asking for. Looks like we will be able to go to these sections any time we would like.
