Yeah, when I saw it on TV I thought "wow, this is sure to become a scandal", but no. No 'Scandal in Russia: Olympic fire gets swapped with simple cigarette lighter fire'. But no.

Apparently I did not *get* the spirit of the olympic fire and that it is apparently the gas and not the flame that counts. So a random dude can just light it up using a lighter.
Or, or maybe it was a special lighter, with olympic gas in it so this is all absolutely okay.  

Or maybe journalists thought: no one gives a crap about the Olympics anymore, so no reason to blow this out of proportions, as they so frequently like to do with things. But then again, people not giving a shit about Miley Cyrus tongue didn't stop them from spamming the media with it either.

Or maybe I just don't get the Olympic spirit.
