Re: The Xbox One
I still won't touch it, but it's good that they're backing off of the idiocy they're were pushing.
As I said in a previous post, the PS4 plan for their cloud/digital stuff is the way to go. Buy it digitally and link it to your account and/or PS4, but don't demand an always online connection. Even smartphones don't require games to have a constant connection. - Some games do but they're MMO-esque games.
I live in a rural area and have terrible connection in most places, between 1x and 3G depending on where I am, so I know how it works. Being able to get your game and play it without being connected is the way to keep it. I don't care when it comes to MMO's due to the nature of MMO's, but when it comes to any single-player game it becomes idiotic to try and force it.
In another decade or so when no one is actually BUYING discs for any reason? Sure. Now? Hells no.

Yeah, that will do lots of good when said 360 RRODs and there's no longer support for it.
I still won't be buying this monstrosity, but at least now people won't get screwed over as much.
It's going to be PC for me. I was always much better on PC anyway. And if I can't afford a PC, then it'll be a PS4.
And shame on you people who were always going to buy one.

Re: The Xbox One
WOULD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO USE THE QUOTE SYSTEM? EVERYTIME I TRY IT JUST MAKES ME TYPE INSIDE THE QUOTE ITSELF. Anywho "Whether we like it or not, we're heading for a future where always online is the norm."
This is the most horrible thing to hear someone say ever, you just saw evidence that people have power and you're just like "welp nothing can be done". Come on, it's like America becoming a police state more and more and someone says "Welp, nothing we can do about it, it's inevitable". No it's not, we the people truly have absolute power. Just look at Microsoft being bitchsmacked into doing the right thing.
As for Blur "they should be banned for life from that sport"
Not if the person was, oh I don't know, playing by themselves in an unnoficial ordeal. You gave a horrible example, a better example is tossing some hoops all by yourself. And you're basically saying people should plant cameras and preventative measures to FORCE me, whom is minding my own business, into playing how they want me to play.
Anyone else get reminded of... FASCISM?

That quote stuff is simple, someone already gave us instructions on how to escape this hell. When you press quote button and post window opens, click that last icon on the far-left located on the toolbar above post you're about to quote. Got it?

Shame on me then...I am excited for the console...excited for the entertainment aspects of it and actually like the kinect...never claimed that I wasn't odd, but I see the potential of what kinect can turn into (great example is what they can do with illumiroom) and think that is a step towards TNG's Holodeck and to me that is very cool (a technology that I didn't think I would see in my lifetime and the pinnacle of immersive "gaming" if you ask me).

Probably. I've always loathed voice-commanded stuff for a few reasons.Hrothdane wrote:

Re: The Xbox One
With any luck, since I think some games will keep coming out for 360, you might get some support. We'll have to wait and see though. As for me, I really didn't want to get it before. Now? Well:DoomsdayDevice wrote:

BansheeOwnage wrote:Definitely good news. I will most likely get an Xbox One-Eighty now, albeit mostly because I just love Halo (look at my name) and I want to keep my profile.
I still want to wait until closer to launch (possibly after because I don't think I'll need any games on it at first) to see exactly what the whole thing entails before saying for sure.
Edit: Oh, DD, we gotta play some MP! I'm finally done with school! Almost.

Hey, back in grade 6, when we first used computers at school, and we were learning to use Word, the first thing I did was find the font I liked most, and it was Comic Sans. It wasn't until almost ten years later (this year) that I discovered hating Comic Sans was a thing.

Yeah, I didn't know that either. But maybe we should get back on topic I guess? I hope the Xbox 180 carries over your existing LIVE account. Does anyone have any info on this?

Yes. This is definetly a good thing. I am hoping that we will hear more about the console and how it works at Gamescom...for example it would awesome if they actual elaborate on the statement regarding "you can plug your 360 into the new console"...personally I am hoping that it will work as a "peripheral" device and at least provide an indirect "backwards compatability".
