Remember that interview where Gamble said that the ending was going to piss off people? In that same interview, he promised that people would eventually get answers to everything.

Here's my question. Mr. Gamble, why the hell are you still employed?

'Eventually'. That's such a hard word to stomach!
Mind you, the writers of Lost promised answers too (if I remember correctly). So yeah.

I hope he didn't mean something like the EC... it only left me with more questions.DoomsdayDevice wrote:Remember that interview where Gamble said that the ending was going to piss off people? In that same interview, he promised that people would eventually get answers to everything.
Btw, I am starting to like the original endings more and more (although it has no Refuse option... :( ).

He didn't mean anything. He was talking out his ass. Just like when he said all our decisions would impact how things went. Or that there would be a Reapers win ending, which he later said meant the Critical Mission Failure screen and proceeded to bitch about being quoted out of context (he wasn't). How about when he said you can get all the endings without touching MP? But perhaps the best, when he said you can't just categorize the endings as A, B, and C.

Heh, yeah. So the 'game over' screen is a feature in the game. Just like having fully interactive menus, credits at the end of the game and intro screens that remind you who made and published the game.
All great features!

Also, I love that Barla Von is the all time top scorer in the Arena, and some of the people even talk about it
That seems like an intentional insult towards Rif's 'Volus fighters are lorebreaking' stance.

Yeah, I can understand people being frustrated with all this, but this DLC just gives me so much hope, there's just so much in there that screams 'Shepard will get out of the rubble!'
I remain optimistic. I just don't want to wait until ME4.

Shepard: "Enjoying the party?"
Lawyer: "Like adrenaline in my heart. They are going to have a firebreather in the bar later and shoot fireworks above the ward."
Shepard: "Would fireworks even burn in a vacuum?"
Lawyer: "It worked at New Year's. Whatever they did, it looked freaking nuclear."

Speaking of confusion, what exactly were Mike Gamble and Patrick Weeks thinking when they made all those cryptic tweets if they weren't concerning Mass Effect? I'm referring to Gamble's "Alive" photo from a Muse concert, and Week's references to the Sandman Graphic Novels, and also to Metallica's Black Album which contains the track "Enter Sandman".
No offence Mike and Patrick, if you happen to read this forum, I'm sure you're both nice guys, but the reason people follow you on twitter is because of your role in creating mass effect. When the Lion's share of your tweets are about ME, people are going to assume that your cryptic little missives are trying to tell us something.
If you really are just expressing personal likes and dislikes, then please consider using a #notmasseffectrelated hash tag, or using a personal, non work twitter account. It will save us all a great deal of confusion and potential disappointment.

@Humakt, wow...
So not only should we not make moral decisions in a vacuum, we shouldn't be making big explosions either!
Agreed. Gamble posting "The Final Countdown".... "and maybe we'll come back, to Earth, who can tell?"
*shakes fist*

I forgot to bring this up earlier, and demersel reminded me!
The Blasto movie set features a scene where a Reaper lands, blasts a Mako (with the laser doing the 'slow crawl', exactly like it does before Shepard gets hit) and then the Vorcha character turns out to be indoctrinated.
That whole thing foreshadows the beam run.

Mixed feelings here too.
How about this though?
EDI: "You forgot homicidal synthetics rebelling against their masters."
Liara: "That was a joke, right?"
I was like, did they just mock their own ending?

Re: I am SO confused about all of this... (Major ending foreshadowing in Citadel DLC)
I still find myself sickened by this DLC, but now moreso by the people of BSN who are praising BioWare for such asinine elements of it. The clone story was botch cliche and utterly wrong in its execution with characters not at all acting as they should. My favorite example is Tali not lifting a finger to help recover data from the wiped drive (that's how she was introduced in ME1; with data from a wiped Geth memory core) and then EDI leaving the task to Brooks for no apparent reason, allowing Brooks to maintain her deception by way of laziness. And then there's EDI not bothering to warn Traynor or lock down the ship ahead of faux-Shepard's arrival, Shepard not immediately resetting his biometrics just as his clone did the moment Shepard gets out of the archives' locked chamber, etc.
I hate lore breaking nonsense. If I had more clues that the Citadel sequence was a fabrication, dream, hallucination, or whathaveyou, I'd be much happier. Instead, the closest connection I have is that it seems to start at a sushi restaurant and then later we find out in the casino that there's some hallucinogenic hanar fish that people sometimes consume recreationally (ergo: WAS THE CITADEL DLC A HALLUCINATION? THE BAD SUSHI THEORY!).
And then there's the people of the BSN. I swear, half of them don't seem to understand that they've been swindled. The line in the casino about con men vs. con artists seems to apply directly. A con artist leaves a person smiling.
I don't know. I'm basing this all on the clone story. I haven't done hardly any of the followup socializing bit, except to note that the Silver Sun Strip is full of N7 Operatives who are doing anything but fighting the Reapers in the middle of a war (at the same time, we get the toughest weekend challenge ever given to us and they name it Lodestar, as though we should remember to stay in the fight instead of waste all our time on quasar).
Still processing.

Epilogue content....
EDIT: Seriously, epilogue content. It'll be edited and changed at least somewhat when it becomes true epilogue content, but there you go.

God that would be so fantastically clever if they could pull that off. Citadel would make perfect sense then. Gah! Bioware why are you doing this to me? I want to give you my money. I want to play this jokey, tongue in cheek DLC. But I can't, and won't, while that wretched ending remains unchanged. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to reward you for copping out and giving up at the final hurdle, the story needs a reveal.

Actually no, he didn't post the actual lyrics, but that is the first part of the lyrics.

after playing through the majority of The Citadel and listening too all the Dialouge that reffers to the ending, i can say i believe in my soul 100% that there is going to be some reveal in the next week or 2 :)

Re: I am SO confused about all of this... (Major ending foreshadowing in Citadel DLC)
So they are having their final ME3 meeting right now, and I came across this gem of a tweet of one BioWare worker scolding the other for taking a picture of the screen. They are mostly recapping:
Fernando Melo @DiscoBabaloo
@SnaggleSprout first time whole team has gathered since Citadel out - so a retrospective mostly #lastme3meet
But this takes the cake:
Harold Chaput @hchaput
Don't photograph the screen. @DiscoBabaloo: Goosebumps time #lastme3meet pic.twitter.com/s69MBXePKO
Why would that matter, if it's just a retrospective? We already saw all the content right? Or did we? ;)

Ah I see. I suppose he might have just idly used the title and didn't realise the lyrics were so applicable.
