For some reason, whenever I played Fallout 3 I became obsessed with turning Bigtown into a fortress.

Yeah, the robots get repaired. Timebomb gets healed. Red & Shorty get rescued from the Supermutant Police Station in Germantown. Sticky gets escorted from Little Lamplight. The Scavenger better not goddamn die en route there.

Everyone gets reverse-pickpocketed and given fully repaired Metal Armour, helmets and Laser Rifles.

Except for Bittercup. She gets the Sexy Sleepwear and a Deathclaw Gauntlet.

I just want to nuke Little Lamplight. If they don't want us to kill kids, how about not making the kids the most belligerent cocksuckers in the universe?

I think it must be something of a Bethesda trademark. Make kids in the game invincible, yet incredibly annoying. Just walk through Whiterun.

"I'm not scared of you, even though you are my elder!"

OK. Well how about I summon a goddamn Dremora Lord and see how you feel then?

That's a great trailer. I wonder if this'll be the first Fallout I really enjoy (though I haven't given FO3 and NV much attention even though I own them).

Unpopular opinion here, I was not that hyped by the trailer.

I was nice that it was rendered in game and did not seem to push any unrealistic graphic level to boot.

But beyond that I found it pretty generic. It showed all the things we have come to associate Fallout with, but not much else. There were really no real suprises for me, nothing that really hooks me yet, makes me think this is anything but Fallout 3 in a new setting with better graphics.

And yeah I would probably buy that, but for as long as this has been underway, the trailer did not really do much to raise my interest in the game.

I loved it. The past/present images makes me wonder if we'll be able to play before the war, and after. Must be really interesting to visit the same places before and after. It would be cool if we could hide items to retrieve them later.

Word going around is, the next patch will make it so that if you have mods installed, you can't earn achievements.  And yes, it's very much intentional.  If you load a game with any detectable mods in place (texture replacements might slip by?), FO4 will flag your save like a leper.  "Modded".  And simply removing the mods won't get rid of the flag.  You'll only get rid of it by reverting to a save that never had contact with a mod.

I don't even give a shit about achievements and this makes me want to stab.  Fuck Ubisoft, Bethesda is the 3rd douchiest game company.

Still waiting on that construction kit too, you dickcheese golem motherfuckers.

What?!? You used to be able to not even just mod but CHEAT on bethesda games for achievements. When did player entertainment stop being a priority?

Nuka World is the worst DLC I have ever had the displeasure of encountering.  I didn't think anything could be worse than Dead Money.  I really didn't.  But goddamnit, Nuka World did it.

It starts out in a deathtrap maze.  Remember that parking garage full of booby traps and mazes?  Same deal.  At the end, you have to fight the raider overlord for control of the gang.  His lieutenant offers to help you win.  You cannot proceed without accepting his help.  You are trapped in a locked room.  You cannot beat the boss without actually using his help.  I did a bunch of mod drugs that like double damage, then opened up with a legendary gatling plasma cannon.  No damage.  Then I shot him with what is essentially a Browning M2 heavy machine gun.  No damage.  Finally, an AA gun with high explosive depleted uranium rounds.  1180 fucking damage a shot BEFORE the drug bonus.  ... No... fucking... damage.  He's completely invincible unless you use the bad guy's help.

Then after that, they proclaim you new raider overlord.  You're still trapped in a locked room.  You have no choice but to agree to do it to get out.  If, after that, you want to go back on your word and just kill all the raiders... congrats, the $20 DLC is over in 5 minutes.  Remember the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim?  It's 5 hours of quests for evil and 5 minutes of combat for good?  Exact same deal.  The game just shrugs its shoulders and goes, "you can kill 'em if you want, I guess."  You literally don't even get to turn the park's power on if you don't play raider boss.  There is no content for good, neutral, or even evil with a purpose.  You can play evil all you want in the original game with the Institute or BoS.  But they at least have noble GOALS and think they're following a greater good sort of thing.  There's none of that here.  Unless you want to play a cartoon villain that lights kittens on fire for giggles, this DLC is not for you.  "Lead raider gangs" isn't just a bulletpoint on DLC and there's other content to be had if that's not for you.  That is ALL the DLC is.

And from what I've read, even that is completely terrible.  It's basically an evil version of the Minutemen, with exactly the same depth.  Which is to say, not enough to drown a fucking ant.  There's pointless, shit quests galore that are all either fetch quests or just "run around area X looking for 10 Y's" which is just Bugthesda's way of saying "we designed all this shit, YOU BETTER FUCKIGN LOOK AT IT!"  No organic exploration that made people love Bethesda's open worlds.  Just forced scavenger hunt bullshit.

I give it Hitler points out of 10.  Hitler/10.

Hell, could've been worse. Stalin/7, for example.

Dead Money? I loved it! What you have described right here is kinda horrific, I'll give you that. Makes me hear echoing voice of certain side character from SWTOR. "CHOICE IS AN ILLUSION!!!" Not what I seek in games with open goddamn world. I'd have go full-VonKuffel and annihilate the sht out of Raiders and everything else that inhabits this DLC. Then rape their burned corpses and pillage the village. To make Wasteland great again, naturally.

The Fallout Thread Favorite Moments, Videos, and Hopes for Fallout 4 - Page 8 Empty Re: The Fallout Thread Favorite Moments, Videos, and Hopes for Fallout 4

Hue. Know you've missed me to the point of declaring me dead to this community which is fine and dandy, methinks. Still kickin' so deal with it and gather here to bear witness to my post where I share my experiences so far with Fallout 4!

Yes, indeed! Have finally got my hands and found time to indulge myself with this piece of Todd Howard's craft that allows the legend of mighty Von Kuffel to continue... or conclude even, considering the advanced age of this senile ol' killah with more scars and bruises than caps in his pockets!

So there they throw me into Vault 111!!!11337 where scripted drama occurs and I leave this railroaded story bullshit ASAP to continue crafting that of my own. Emerging from the vault as the man that has traveled in time and space, defying all flawed logics of game developing industry. No one else but Ol' Sergeant Von Kuffel, The Scourge of the Wastes.

Scouting the horizon. There be Sattelite Dishes far on the South. Fond memories I had with these back in F3 and so I run across the wasteland and the radiation storms followed. 10mm pistol w/ some rudimentary mods, Security Baton and a blue-yellow jumpsuit being my only companions in this journey into the unknown! There among the dead forests littered with wreckage and surrounded by fences preventing me from leaving the approximate area of Boston, Massachusets I stumble upon a trader tending to his crops. Just Surviving Somehow yet another day in the Wasteland. Well, so do I and my 10mm pistol, the most powerful handgun in Vault-Tec's arsenal! Alas, poor trader. I knew him well... after load/save procedure repeated several times due to bullshit accuracy and damage employed by my victim. They were not shitting me with 'Very Hard' difficulty. Felt like Dark Souls already and before long Sun was Praised.

Night has embraced the desolate soil saturated by irradiated waters of Atlantic Ocean brimming with cthonian horrors I have yet to encounter, no doubt! So I march and march slaying vile mongrels that dare to cross the path on Kuffel's final quest to reclaim unholy land from the grasp of corruption and mutation. There be Synths. Minor incovenience that pale in comparison to those fckin' ghouls. Gods smite 'em all. Fortune smiled upon me when I found exoskeleton of power armor I have fitted with some raider parts looted from cold, profanated corpses of enemies I've slain on my trip to the far South where I hear the epicenter of the nuclear blast has occured some several hundreds years ago. No better place to fight and die for, I reckon!

What little advantage the makeshift Power Armor has given me was insufficient when dealing with heresy of mutated spawn that inhabit the Southern territories. Radiation Storms were also bad for complexion, as I have found being forced to abandon what has became my second skin behind amidst the Glowing Sea to seek cure from the dreaded sickness that has filled my health bar up to 90% capacity. I have found Deathclaw, instead. Then a light in the abysmall darkness I have delved into with zealotry adequate to the crusader of olden times. No occupants. Some traps. Deathclaw lost the trail. Spent some 20 minutes of Real Life Time for the Storm to pass being wary of making another step in any direction due to some unspecified source of radiation coming out from the far interior of the labortory I have made my shelter. From the frying pan and into the fire, they say!

Limping, blood oozing and gammas radiating I make my way north to Fort Hagen where the temporary forward operating base has been established to keep my stuff somewhere. Things I have collected made it possible to conoct two batches of RadAway treatment. Enough to keep me going. Next morning some random wastelander on her period and armed with a shotgun spawns next to my bed; opening fire point-black right behind my back. I retaliate with furious anger, great vengeance and what little remained in my humble supply of ammunition. Loyal 10mm pistol and a Machete being my only means of cleansing the wasteland now. I man dafq up, make it into my power armor and alter the course further north to meet challenges more likely to overcome. Man, I was wrong. So very much wrong.

What I have learned is that War.... War never changes. Neither does Bethesda.
#GayForTodd #MakeWastelandGreatAgain

(Not)Final Verdict: 5/7. Too much irradiated water. Fuck Ghouls.
